International Babywearing Week is a time when parents all around the world join together to share the joy that carrying their baby brings.
Whether it allows you to calm a fractious baby, breastfeed on the go, get a few things done around the house, play with older siblings or go for a walk in the woods, thousands of families carry their babies (and toddlers and pre-schoolers too) every day.
We are lucky in Exeter that there are so many babywearers who are happy to share their knowledge; come come and meet some of them at one of the events planned to celebrate International Babywearing Week 2013.
Events planned so far:
Monday 10-noon. Sling demos, advice and support.
Babyccino at the Hub on the Green, 8 Cathedral Close, just down from ASK Pizza on Cathedral Green.
Thursday 10.30-noon. Sling demos, advice and support, breastfeeding cafe, St Thomas Community Centre, behind Parish Church, Cowick Street.
Friday 10-noon. Sling Meet at Cafe Renslade, Exe Bridges.
Saturday 11-noon. Slingathon. Meet at 11 on Cathedral Green for sling exercise class led by Emma from Slingercise followed by walk to Northernhay Gardens.
All welcome to all events – come with your sling if you have one or with your bump or pram if you would like to find out more about babywearing.
Every time you attend one of the events listed above, you will be entered in a free raffle to win some fab prizes, including Natural Nursery voucher, Lactavist mugs, ring slings, wrap scrap key rings and more.
